The Advisory Board of Farmers aims to amplify the voices and needs of primary producers, ensuring they are heard by key organizations to enhance farmers’ participation in the bioeconomy dialogue and practice.
BRILIAN, the pioneering European innovation project dedicated to support sustainable and circular cooperative business models in rural areas, has launched its Advisory Board of Farmers (ABF).
The ABF will serve as a key operational component within the BRILIAN project, designed to ensure the practical application of its outcomes and solutions. A dedicated team of experts within the ABF will assess the scalability of the business models piloted by BRILIAN across various regions. This collaboration is crucial for effective knowledge dissemination and the development of a strong, cooperative network that addresses sustainability challenges and explores opportunities.
The primary goals of the ABF are to:
- Enhance collaboration and unity among BRILIAN stakeholders.
- Foster a collective ambition for sustainable adaptation to climate challenges through the implementation of BRILIAN solutions and increase employment opportunities while bridging the gap between rural and urban
- Share knowledge, experience and expertise.
- Facilitate networking dialogue for co-creation, share experiences and concerns by including when possible regional authorities, food manufacturers, farmers, biorefinery owners, investors etc.
- Transfer strategies adopted to promote bioeconomy in other countries and promote social acceptance and engagement in rural regions.
- Trigger dialogue among stakeholders, including policymakers at EU and national levels, on the deployment of sustainable and circular bio-based systems.
- Participate in the selection of representative farms that will be the living example of the integration of sustainable agricultural practices and economically sustainable production for the bioeconomy sector.
- Evaluate the adaptability of business models in diverse regions within the BRILIAN initiative.
The ABF will facilitate and synchronize the efforts of all participants and stakeholders, contribute to guide strategic blueprints at both scientific and technological levels, and support stakeholder engagement by inspiring local initiatives through community involvement in project activities.
Joining the ABF allows members to collaborate with experienced practitioners and grow their professional networks. To learn more about the Advisory Board of Farmers, discover the benefits of membership, and apply, please visit webiste.
