The ELLIPSE project, dedicated toadvancing bio-based materialsand sustainable solutions, hassuccessfully concluded its M18General Assembly in Tulln an derDonau, Austria. Hosted by BEST -Bioenergy and SustainableTechnologies, the two-day eventgathered the 13 European projectpartners to assess progress andstrategize the project’s next steps.
Coordinated by AIMPLAS, ELLIPSEfocuses on transforming organicwaste into valuable bio-basedmaterials, including bioplasticsand bio-fertilizers. This visionaligns with its mission to promoteresource efficiency, support acircular economy, and fostersustainable solutions for thebioeconomy.
During the assembly, consortiummembers shared the latestachievements across all projectwork packages, addressedchallenges, and discussedinsights to drive future phases.
The event also included a tour of the Heinzelpaper factory in Laakirchen, where participants observed the pulp and paper production process.
On the second day the consortium visitedthe BEST pilot plant in Tulln that consist ina reactor for the VFAs (volatile fattyacids) production.
The knowledge exchange and collaborative atmosphere helped define the project’s priorities for the months ahead, ensuring that Ellipse continues to make strides toward creating impactful, environmentally friendly solutions within the bioeconomy.
