The EU-funded initiative ESIL is organising an intense workshop to propel gender diversity within the European angel investment landscape. This half-day online event is addressed to angel investors, researchers, policymakers, and representatives from European organisations.
Through a series of interactive panels and presentations, participants will explore the current state of women angel investors in Europe, get inspiration from successful strategies for increasing gender balance, and identify opportunities to cultivate thriving, gender-focused angel communities across the continent.
A particular focus will be placed on the role of ESIL Next Gen Angels, as a pioneering initiative aimed at fostering a new generation of younger, more geographically diverse, and genderinclusive angel investors in Europe.
Jenny Tooth, VP Diversity at BAE comments “We are delighted to be organising this important workshop, drawing on the insights and experiences of leading women investors in both developed and less developed Angel markets, whilst looking at relevant research and key European instruments and with a view to identifying how under ESIL we can bring lasting change to the existing gender imbalances in investment across Europe. Do join us !”.
Attracting a diverse range of players from the angel investment ecosystem
The workshop is open to a diverse group of participants, including established and aspiring angel investors, with a particular focus on women interested in angel investing. Researchers and data providers, particularly experts and academics who focus on European data and trends in gender and angel investment, are also encouraged to apply. It is also a key event for policymakers from European institutions responsible for developing policies that support gender equality among entrepreneurs. Additionally, investment professionals such as venture capitalists, investment bankers, and representatives from business incubators, as well as representatives from organisations that offer resources and support to angel investors, are invited to participate.
