The European Local Innovation Forum (ELIF), hosted by AEIDL, invites policymakers, regional stakeholders, practitioners, and all interested participants to join the upcoming online webinar “Right to Stay: Understanding the drivers of territorial cohesion”, taking place on 4 June 2026 from 10:00 to 11:30 CEST.
The webinar will explore the emerging “Right to Stay” concept in the European policy debate, which highlights the importance of ensuring that people across Europe can remain in their home territories if they wish to, making mobility a genuine choice rather than a necessity.
The discussion comes at a crucial moment for Europe, as regions and rural areas continue to face demographic challenges, territorial inequalities, population decline, and unequal access to services and opportunities. The session will examine how territorial cohesion can be strengthened through concrete, place-based approaches and collaborative policy solutions.
Bringing together EU policymakers, regional actors, and practitioners, the webinar will also present practical experiences from rural and regional development initiatives that address current territorial challenges and support stronger, more resilient communities.
